Goblin Race in The Veil
+20% luck, +10% cast damage and 10% shorter cast cooldowns make this an unusually efficient caster roll.
Should you keep Goblin?
Keep it for a caster or farming build. Reroll only when you have a clear non-cast plan and spare rerolls.

Goblin effect
Greedy Instincts gives +20% luck and +10% cast damage while reducing cast cooldowns by 10%.
What the numbers come to
The two cast bonuses multiply rather than add, and that is what pushes an Uncommon roll this high. A 10% cooldown reduction lets you cast 1 ÷ 0.9 ≈ 1.11× as often, and each of those casts hits for 1.10×. Sustained cast output therefore lands near 1.22× baseline, roughly a 22% damage increase for a caster, out of a rarity tier most players reroll straight past.
That only holds while you are cooldown-limited. If your fights are spent waiting on mana, on positioning or on a boss becoming vulnerable rather than waiting on cooldowns, the 10% reduction buys nothing and the race collapses to a plain +10% cast damage.
The +20% luck sits outside combat entirely and is the hardest part of this race to price, because the game has never published what luck actually modifies.
Best build fit
Casting-heavy progression, loot farming and early players who want useful bonuses without chasing a legendary roll.
Tradeoffs to check
The damage bonus applies to casts, so a weapon-focused build gets less value from two of the three bonuses.
Goblin compared with Underling
Underling is the same idea with a different split: +15% cast damage against Goblin's +10%, so it wins on any single cast, plus fire resistance and regeneration Goblin does not have. Goblin wins on volume through the cooldown cut and adds luck. Pick Underling if your casts are few and large, Goblin if they are many and small.
Open the Underling profile for the other side of that trade.
When to reroll Goblin
Reroll when your build has settled on weapons and summons, since two of the three bonuses then do nothing. Do not reroll it while you are still farming gear, because the luck bonus is working during exactly that phase.
A reroll replaces your race rather than adding a second one. The steps are on the race index.
What is not confirmed about Goblin
- What +20% luck applies to is unpublished: drop rates, chest quality, reroll outcomes or some combination of them.
- Whether the cooldown reduction stacks multiplicatively with cooldown reduction from gear, which decides if Goblin scales into late builds or gets crowded out.
