Obelite Race in The Veil
A defensive race with resistance, stun resistance and knockback at the cost of movement and recovery.
Should you keep Obelite?
Keep it for durability. Damage-first or speed-first builds may prefer a cleaner offensive race.

Obelite effect
Stoneform is reported to give +8% resistance, +10% stun resistance and +15% knockback with -10% speed. Exert Energy temporarily adds resistance but is followed by regeneration penalties.
What the numbers come to
The +8% resistance applies to every hit you take, with no roll and no timing. Over a long fight that is a predictable 8% off the incoming total. Smaller than it sounds in isolation, but it never fails to show up, and that property is what matters while you are still learning an encounter.
The -10% speed is the real cost and it is easy to underrate. In a game where sidestepping an attack removes 100% of its damage, a movement penalty can hand back more than the 8% resistance saves. Obelite is strongest for players who are still eating hits they should have dodged, and it gets relatively weaker as your dodging improves.
The +10% stun resistance compounds with that. Being stunned is what turns one avoidable hit into three unavoidable ones, so the stun bonus is really a second defensive layer rather than a separate perk.
Best build fit
Defensive play, learning boss patterns and builds that can tolerate slower movement.
Tradeoffs to check
The speed and post-active recovery penalties matter in a game where repositioning is a major defense.
Obelite compared with Wraith
The developer's October 10 log raised Wraith's Phase chance to 10%. That is higher than Obelite's reported 8% resistance in a simple average-damage model, so Obelite is not a direct numerical upgrade. Obelite offers predictable reduction and stun resistance; Wraith avoids the movement penalty but leaves the timing of its protection to chance.
Open the Wraith profile for the other side of that trade.
When to reroll Obelite
Reroll once you are clearing content without taking avoidable damage, at which point the -10% speed costs you more than the resistance returns. Keep it while you are still learning a boss.
A reroll replaces your race rather than adding a second one. The steps are on the race index.
What is not confirmed about Obelite
- Every Stoneform number here is community-reported rather than taken from patch notes.
- Exert Energy's added resistance, its duration and the size of the regeneration penalty that follows are all unquantified, which makes the active impossible to price.
- Whether the +8% is additive with armour resistance or applied separately.
